About CreositySpace

CreositySpace is working to inspire a generation of dreamers, inventors and innovators by connecting kids to STEM through entrepreneurship. Based in the Albany, New York and Seattle, Washington regions CreositySpace collaborates with STEM entrepreneurs and innovators to help kids tap into their natural creativity and curiosity at a time when they ask, “What do I want to do when I grow up?” Our in-school program, Book of Ideas, and hands-on activities keep STEM current, real and relatable to young minds, while our Educator Guides and accompanying videos, entrepreneur database, and young entrepreneur book series, are designed to help educators integrate STEM into all classes.

Our Team
Bringing together the STEM-Degreed and the STEM-Inspired

Peg Zokowski
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Peg always found science interesting, but wasn’t sure a career as a scientist or engineer was right for her. Instead, she pursued an undergraduate degree in history and a masters degree in Ukrainian history. From this she launched her career in communications and writing, focused mostly on working with engineers, scientists, and STEM entrepreneurs. The spark for CreositySpace was planted by Peg’s ever-inventing son, and has since grown into a way to connect kids and entrepreneurs to each other and their communities. When Peg isn’t working or hanging out with family and friends, she’s working on becoming a “46er” or looking for the next article to write on women in cleantech.

Katharine Geramita
Ph.D, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

With an undergraduate degree in engineering chemistry from Queen’s University in Canada, and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley, Kath has worked at a number of technology start-ups—from electronic paper and cement made from CO2 to new materials for batteries and fuel cells. Finally wanting to work for her own company, and change the way kids think about science and technology, she joined forces with Peg at CreositySpace. When she isn’t working, Kath is running, biking or swimming her way through new and fun endurance races.

Bill Dailey
J.D., GENERAL COUNSEL

Bill is an attorney who works closely with entrepreneurs and innovators to develop new technologies and manage the growth of new companies, combining his understanding of law, business, and technology. Mr. Dailey also works with universities to develop ideas that start with their faculty and students, and has led programs at graduate institutions. Bill was previously in-house counsel at a fuel cell Company, and is a named inventor on multiple U.S. Patents. When he isn’t working, Bill is an avid golfer and skier.  Bill earned his J.D from Albany Law School, and his M.B.A. from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Martha Ponge
M.Ed., DIRECTOR OF TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Martha Ponge has a wealth of experience as a STEM educator and has spent years inspiring students to become lifelong learners. Through her work as a technology teacher in the Central New York region, she has had many opportunities to see firsthand where student struggle with STEM concepts and the types of programs that keep all students engaged. Martha’s years as both an educator and a trainer of educators are a great compliment to the STEM industry experience of the CreositySpace team. Martha has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University in NY and a M.Ed. from SUNY Oswego.

Thanks to all those who helped with the startup of CreositySpace (originally SmartKids NY). Special thanks and acknowledgement to the following for their generosity in providing pro-bono consultation in angel funding, legal, graphic design, and strategic marketing to Smartkids NY presenters: Fonder + Design, Buzz Media, Eastern New York Angels, and Phyllips Lytle.
