Conscientious Chemists

Advancing technology while still protecting the environment


Invention and technology advancements are an integral part of human nature. But some of our innovations have taken a toll on the Earth, and force us to ask the question, "How does humanity continue to develop and advance technology, while protecting its environment?"

The field of green chemistry is attempting to address that very question. 

In Conscientious Chemists, we talk to folks working on this problem from many different perspectives - entrepreneurs, researchers and policy makers - to understand and explore how all the pieces fit together. Join us as Stacy, Christoph, Jared, Jason and others talk about what they are doing to drive innovation forward in this field while preserving the environment.

Supplemental Curriculum unitsuitable for students in grades 3 - 8

The Conscientious Chemists open-access unit contains the following components:

Our standard ~ 70 page Educator Guide, containing 
  • Topic introduction and graphical timeline
  • Detailed list of the common core and science standards met by the content (ELA, science)
  • Day-by-day activity break out to aid in lesson planning
  • Detailed activity instructions and parts lists
  • My STEM Notes™ and My STEM Stories™ student notebooks to accompany hands-on and ELA activities. 

A series of FireSci Shorts™ Q&A videos with a variety of people who work in the green chemistry space. 

Digital copies of all students notebooks and worksheets.
